How to Choose The Right Carburetor For Your Motorcycle

Are you still worried about choosing a carburetor to increase power? Here are the key steps to help you make a great decision:

1. Understand Your Motorcycle's Specifications

  • Engine Size (Displacement): The size of your engine, measured in cubic centimeters (cc), is crucial. Larger engines generally require carburetors with larger diameters.
  • Engine Type: Two-stroke and four-stroke engines have different carburetor requirements due to differences in their air-fuel mixture needs.
  • Intended Use: Consider whether you’re using your motorcycle for racing, cruising, or off-road purposes. Different uses may require different carburetor characteristics.

2. Determine the Correct Carburetor Size

  • Venturi Size: This is the narrowest part of the carburetor where the air passes through. It affects the velocity of the airflow and the air-fuel mixture. A good rule of thumb is to match the carburetor size to your engine's displacement:
  • Take our flange-connected PE carburetor as an example:

3. Measure the Inner Diameter of Intake Manifold

  • Comparing the intake manifold inner diameter to the carburetor outer diameter, the size needs to be matched. Ensure the carburetor can be mounted on your motorcycle’s intake manifold. Some require adapters or modifications.

 4. Check Fuel Delivery Method: Gravity or Pump?

  • Please make sure your engine uses gravity fuel supply, normally fuel tank is located above the carburetor. Nibbi Racing carburetor is only fit for gravity fuel supply.

 5. Confirm Throttle and Choke Types

  • Check your original throttle cable type, Nibbi Racing carburetors only fit for the pull-type cable, so make sure is compatible. Moreover Nibbi Racing carburetor only suit for the manual choke type.

      6. Additional Features

      • Adjustability: Look for carburetors with easily adjustable needles, jets, and air screws for fine-tuning.
      • Support and Parts Availability: Ensure that spare parts and support are readily available for maintenance and repairs.

By following these steps and considering these factors, you can choose the right carburetor that enhances your motorcycle’s performance and meets your specific riding requirements.
