Why is the common failure rate of the carburetor not low?

Carburetor as a precise mechanical device, its important role in the engine can be called the "heart" of the engine. From a professional point of view: the failure rate of the carburetor itself is extremely low. But in actual use, the failure rate is not low. There are two main reasons for this:

 

  1. Because all the working characteristics of the engine are related to the carburetor, such as acceleration, transition, fuel consumption and so on. Therefore, when judging the cause of the performance failure of the motorcycle, the failure of electrical parts or other mechanical parts is often mixed with the carburetor, and the carburetor is replaced for the carburetor fault. For example, the failure of the filter blocks the carburetor, and the new carburetor is eliminated, but the fundamental problem is not solved.

 

  1. The quality problems of related parts greatly shorten the service life of the carburetor. Such as the reduction of cleanliness, increase the wear of the carburetor parts and so on.

 

Several common fault phenomena of the carburetor of motorcycle are: starting difficulty, idle instability, poor transition, lack of power, oil leakage, high fuel consumption, the above only selected the carburetor fault for analysis. But in fact, from the point of view of the whole machine, there are many factors causing the above failure phenomenon. Such as starting difficulty: ignition system disorder, spark plug electrode gap change and so on will cause starting difficulty. Such as idle instability: the motorcycle machine factory to reduce the sound of the engine cylinder head, the engine valve gap is often adjusted too small, resulting in the deterioration of the engine inlet and exhaust state, idle instability or even no idle phenomenon. Users should analyze it specifically according to the vehicle fault condition.
