Common failure of the carburetor: high fuel consumption
High fuel consumption
The level of fuel consumption is an important performance index that motorcycle users are most concerned about, and also an important performance index of motorcycle. As the key part of motorcycle oil supply system, the carburetor is very to vehicle fuel consumption. Reducing fuel consumption is also the goal of carburetor manufacturers.
The general actual driving fuel consumption law is: two strokes is higher than four strokes, large displacement is higher than small displacement, automatic clutch is higher than manual clutch. In addition, the structure of the engine is different, fuel consumption is also different. The specific numerical value should be determined according to the specific vehicle model. For the current common domestic models: the fuel consumption of two-stroke 50 cars is about 3L / 100km, four-stroke 70~100 cars is below 2L / 100km, four-stroke 125 cars is about 2L / 100km, and four-stroke 70~125 scooter fuel consumption is about 3.0L / 100km. Users can generally judge whether their car is high fuel consumption.
Reasons for high fuel consumption and exclusion methods:
- Carburetor oil leakage
The cause of the oil leakage and the exclusion method are shown before.
- The air volume hole of each oil system is partially blocked
Reason: partial blockage of air volume hole of each oil system will cause concentrated oil supply of carburetor and increase fuel consumption.
Exclusion method: clean according to the above carburetor cleaning method.
- The starting and thickening device is not strictly closed
The reasons for the lax closure of the starting and thickening device and the elimination method are shown before.
- The wear outer diameter of the main oil needle is reduced, and the wear of the main nozzle hole is large
Reason: in the use of the above parts due to the long-term rapid erosion of the impurities contained in the gasoline, which reduces the outer diameter of the main oil needle and the hole of the main nozzle is large, resulting in the increase of oil supply and the increase of fuel consumption.
Exclusion method: replace the new volume holes.
